Practicalities.

How long is each lesson?

Lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Younger beginners usually start with 30 minutes, and we can adjust as they progress.

How much practice is expected?

Little and often works best. Your teacher will suggest a realistic amount that fits around school, work and family life.

What does it cost?

The introductory lesson is free and lasts 30 minutes. Regular lessons are billed per 12-week term: piano, violin and cello cost US$48 for 30 minutes, $68 for 45 and $88 for 60. Voice costs $52, $74 and $94.

What if we need to miss a lesson?

Give us 24 hours’ notice and we’ll reschedule within the same term. Lessons missed without notice can’t be made up. There are three terms a year: autumn, spring and summer.

Can siblings or family members learn together?

Yes. Families often book consecutive lessons, and we can talk about what works best for you.

Do I need to read music already?

No. Reading is taught alongside playing or singing, at a pace that suits the student.
